Saint Bridget Annual Lenten Fish Fry - Friday, March 11

From John McCulla

Our Annual Parish Lenten Fish Fry is fast approaching – just a couple of weeks away on March 11th, 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

I am writing to ask again for your help at the Fish Fry by volunteering for one shift during the event.  This will leave ample time in the evening to enjoy a great fish dinner and the fellowship of your friends and pew-mates!

Many of you have volunteered for the “Fry” before and enjoyed it.  I hope you will assist this year, too!  Please ask your spouse to help, too!

For those of you that will be serving for the first time, you will have a lot of fun, you will provide service to your fellow parishioners, and you will help make the evening a grand success!  And, Monsignor WANTS YOU TO HELP!

Please email John at jkmcculla@comcast.net to volunteer!

Thank you for helping in any area at the Fish Fry!  I look forward to hearing back from you!

Best,

John

Annual Pilgrimage to the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception - Saturday, March 5

The Men's Ministry Pilgrimage to the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington is on Saturday, March 5.  This year we will be joined by a contingent of the Men of St. Joseph from St. Edward Church.

The Lenten Pilgrimage includes a tour of the largest Catholic basilica in the United States, opportunity for Confession, a private Mass in the Our Lady of Czestochowa Chapel celebrated by Fr. Stefan, Stations of the Cross, and lunch at an Irish Pub.  Also available is an optional side trip to the nearby Dominican House of Studies, as well as opportunities for private prayer and gift shop/bookstore shopping.

In this Year of Mercy, the Holy Door of The Shrine will be open and Pope Francis has conceded a plenary indulgence to pilgrims meeting the usual conditions (all available at some point during the day).

We depart from St. B's front lot promptly at 6:30 am (offer it up as part of your Lent).  We are usually back in Richmond by 5:30-6:00 pm

2016 March for Life - Washington, DC

Date and Time:

Friday, January 22, 2016 7:30 AM-  Friday, January 22, 2016 6:00 PM

Description:

March for Life 2016 - Washington, DC.

Join fellow St. Bridget parishioners at the 2016 March for Life in Washington, D.C. on January 22nd, the anniversary of the infamous Roe v. Wade decision.  The theme for the March this year is Pro-Life and Pro-Woman Go Hand-In-Hand.  The day has been designated as a National Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children.  If you have never been, you need to go!  It is the largest gathering of Pro-Life supporters in the world!  You will be overwhelmed by the number of youth in attendance and marching for the protection of the unborn!

Bus transportation again will be generously provided by the Knights of Columbus.  Come to the Columbian Center at 2324 Pump Road by 7:45 a.m. on the 22nd.  We will board buses and proceed to the Richmond Diocesan Center to receive Bishop DiLorenzo’s blessing for the March.  The buses will return to the Columbian Center about 6:00 p.m.  Please dress appropriately for outdoor weather, and bring your own lunch for the day.  To reserve a seat on the bus, contact Mike Kozak at ckoz654@aol.com.  Please join our efforts to save the 1.2 million unborn children who lose their lives to abortion each year in the U.S.
