RECEPTION
St. Bridget’s Catholic Church approx 12:30
From Yvonne Smith, Volunteer Coordinator at St. B:
Dale's Funeral Mass will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with a Vigil on Wednesday night at Bliley's. I do not have the time for the Vigil yet.
Dale's son, Barry, asked that I forward the details to the groups that he was a member of however you all are the only folks I know to inform.
I was asked by so many people yesterday when his funeral would be and I don't have a list of those individuals. Would you be kind enough to pass the days and times along to other groups for me. Thank you so much.
His son is planning a reception at the church after the graveside on Thursday and I am sure he would like for folks to know about that as well.
Yvonne
From Lotsa Helping Hands Today:
Nancy Matanic has posted a new announcement for Dale Matanic .
Dale Vincent Matanic passed peacefully this morning February 12 at 7:28. Although our hearts are heavy, we are comforted that Dale suffered no pain. Over the past days each of his family members were blessed to be able to express their love and say meaningful goodbyes.
Dale touched so many lives in such a positive way. He is loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Service details will follow.

From John:
Friends and Brothers,
Barry Matanic, Dale’s son, asked me to let you know that Dale passed this morning at about 7:30. Barry and Dale’s sisters Nancy and Marianne were present and Barry said it was a peaceful death.
Ann and I arrived back from NoVa about 8:30 am and were stopping at the hospital anyway. We were able to visit briefly with Barry and family, and to say a few prayers over Dale.
Thank you all for your prayers and support for Dalea and his family. They said it was very, very loving and reassuring in this tough time.
So sad, but Dale is at rest in the hands of God!
Fraternally,
John
Here's the latest update from John:
Brothers,
I wanted to give you a quick update about Dale. Dale is fighting hard but he is struggling to keep up. He is comfortable and alert. He was awake and able to communicate through eye contact, a squeeze of the hand, and some writing on a pad. But, he has a respirator over his mouth and nose and is unable to speak as a result.
Dale is surrounded by his family, including his son Barry, his sisters Nancy and Mary Ann, and Joan. Other family members are arriving in town to see Dale. Monsignor Carr visited Dale again around noon at the sisters’ request which was a great comfort to him.
Ann and I visited this afternoon and prayed a rosary over Dale. He is comforted in knowing so many are praying for him. He has a small cross resting on his chest which keeps the Lord close to him.
Please continue your prayers for Dale that he may be at peace knowing he is loved by many, uplifted by your prayers, and is a man of faith and close to the Lord.
Best, John

From David:
Was just with Dale at cardiac intensive care [VCU] .His heart doc handed him some heavy news which was not good. His outlook is very poor. There may be a chance for good with an artificial heart but there are issues which may prevent this. He is trying to digest this news. Please continue with your prayers. God's will be done

Gentlemen,
Thank you to all who sang Christmas Eve at St. Bridget's 8:00 PM Liturgy. It was another special evening. Parishioners appreciated our efforts!
The church has requested our singing support for this year's Respect Life Holy Hour on Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 7 pm. As in past years, the Holy Hour serves as a vigil of sorts for the March for Life in Washington D.C., to be held this year on Jan.27.
The Holy Hour includes Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction, and we, the Gentlemen of St. Bridget, are being enlisted to help with the singing. Deacon Bob Giovenco has always participated and the Respect Life committee has invited all the clergy of the Parish to help pray the Hour.
Gents, we are being asked to arrive by 6:30 that evening to have a quick warm up and brief rehearsal with Allen Bean and/or William Buckley before the Holy Hour's beginning at 7:00. Our dress will be navy sports coats, gray slacks, white shirts, red ties.
Would you be so kind to please reply here with an indication of whether you can join us to sing at the Respect Life Holy Hour January 24th?
thank you,
Wayne
