Please see the link above for information on National Celebrate Life Day, on Saturday morning, to be held on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. The speaker line-up is impressive.
As you may recall, June 24th is the first anniversary of the Dobbs decision, which overruled the infamous Roe v. Wade decision.
Up and back free bus transportation is being provided from St. Joseph’s Church on Buford Rd.

SOLEMNITY OF THE SACRED HEART FRIDAY, JUNE 16

LITANY TO THE SACRED HEART

An invitation from the leadership of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops:

“Catholic Christians traditionally recognize June as the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. During this time, we call to mind Christ’s love for us, which is visible in a special way in the image of His pierced heart, and we pray that our own hearts might be conformed to His, calling us to love and respect all His people.

“This year, on June 16 — the day of the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus — a professional baseball team has shockingly chosen to honor a group whose lewdness and vulgarity in mocking our Lord, His Mother, and consecrated women cannot be overstated. This is not just offensive and painful to Christians everywhere; it is blasphemy.

“It has been heartening to see so many faithful Catholics and others of good will stand up to say that what this group does is wrong, and it is wrong to honor them. We call on Catholics to pray the Litany of the Sacred Heart on June 16, offering this prayer as an act of reparation for the blasphemies against our Lord we see in our culture today.”

Bishops Call for the Litany of the Sacred Heart

On Friday, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. A day when Christians around the world spend time reflecting on Christ’s everlasting love for us and the ultimate sacrifice He paid for us on the cross, visible in a special way in the image of His pierced heart.
This Tuesday, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, alongside Archbishop José Gomez of Los Angeles, called us all to prayer as a professional baseball team decides to honor a group this Friday that heartbreakingly disrespects and mocks our Lord, His Mother, religious sisters, and our faith.
We invite you to answer the call to prayer with a new 12-Day Sacred Heart Prayer Challenge starting this Friday guided by Trevor Williams, catholic husband, father, and starting major league pitcher for the Washington Nationals. Together we’ll pray the Litany of the Sacred Heart, the Sacred Heart Novena, and more as we pray that our hearts and our world might be conformed to Jesus’ most Sacred Heart.
