2d Message From Cheryl Peters at St. Bridget

Thank you both for your responses. We need both your groups to take the helm and plan and host the reception. Something simple, I think a cake would be in order with some sort of Congratulations on it. Perhaps that and some simple nibbles.

Thanks again!

Cheryl

Please email Cheryl at if you can take the helm and plan the reception.

Message from Cheryl Peters at St. Bridget

Good afternoon,

As you may know, Deacon Mark Kowalski will be ordained June 3 and will have his first Mass here at Saint Bridget on June 4 at 11 am. Monsignor would like your groups to plan a simple reception for him following the 11 am Mass. We are thinking it could be in the Commons, I do not have this in the budget so we can talk about that as the planning progesses.

Please let me know if you have any questions,

Cheryl

Please email Cheryl at cpeters@saintbridgetchurch.org if you can help.

Prayer Requests

Please keep Darius Yazdgerdi's father, Daryoush Yazdgerdi, who passed away Sunday, March 5, Darius and his family in your prayers.

Also, please keep Bob Rice in your prayers. If you'd like to know more about Bob's situation or to help, contact Greg at gregstivers@yahoo.com or 804.304.0500.

St. Bridget Fish Fry - Please Volunteer to Help at the "Fry"

Fellow Parishioner and Fish Fry Volunteer,

Our Annual Parish Lenten Fish Fry is fast approaching – just about a month away on March 24th, 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

I am writing to ask again for your help at the Fish Fry by volunteering for one shift during the event.  This will leave ample time in the evening to enjoy a great fish dinner and the fellowship of your friends and pew-mates!

Many of you have volunteered for the “Fry” before and enjoyed it.  I hope you will assist this year, too!  Please ask your spouse to help, too!

For those of you that will be serving for the first time, you will have a lot of fun, you will provide service to your fellow parishioners, and you will help make the evening a grand success!  And, Monsignor WANTS YOU TO HELP! Special indulgences and dispensations to all!

Please volunteer for any area in which you are interested by emailing John at jkmcculla@comcast.net.

Thank you for helping in any area at the Fish Fry!  I look forward to hearing back from you!

Best,

John

Dale

From Yvonne Smith, Volunteer Coordinator at St. B:

Dale's Funeral Mass will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with a Vigil on Wednesday night at Bliley's.  I do not have the time for the Vigil yet.

Dale's son, Barry, asked that I forward the details to the groups that he was a member of however you all are the only folks I know to inform.

I was asked by so many people yesterday when his funeral would be and I don't have a list of those individuals.  Would you be kind enough to pass the days and times along to other groups for me.  Thank you so much.

His son is planning a reception at the church after the graveside on Thursday and I am sure he would like for folks to know about that as well.

Yvonne

From John:

Friends and Brothers,

Barry Matanic, Dale’s son, asked me to let you know that Dale passed this morning at about 7:30.  Barry and Dale’s sisters Nancy and Marianne were present and Barry said it was a peaceful death.

Ann and I arrived back from NoVa about 8:30 am and were stopping at the hospital anyway.  We were able to visit briefly with Barry and family, and to say a few prayers over Dale.

Thank you all for your prayers and support for Dalea and his family.  They said it was very, very loving and reassuring in this tough time.

So sad, but Dale is at rest in the hands of God!

Fraternally,

John

Dale

Here's the latest update from John:

Brothers,

I wanted to give you a quick update about Dale.  Dale is fighting hard but he is struggling to keep up.  He is comfortable and alert.  He was awake and able to communicate through eye contact, a squeeze of the hand, and some writing on a pad.  But, he has a respirator over his mouth and nose and is unable to speak as a result.

Dale is surrounded by his family, including his son Barry, his sisters Nancy and Mary Ann, and Joan.  Other family members are arriving in town to see Dale.  Monsignor Carr visited Dale again around noon at the sisters’ request which was a great comfort to him.

Ann and I visited this afternoon and prayed a rosary over Dale.  He is comforted in knowing so many are praying for him.  He has a small cross resting on his chest which keeps the Lord close to him.

Please continue your prayers for Dale that he may be at peace knowing he is loved by many, uplifted by your prayers, and is a man of faith and close to the Lord.

Best, John
