I have just learned that the March for Life in Washington, DC will not be a public event this year. It appears that virtual participation will be the only option for us. Please see below.
The Respect Life Holy Hour at St. Bridget on January 26 @ 5:30 p.m. will be conducted as scheduled.

Below is the link for the 2021 March for Life on January 29. Unfortunately, there is no K of C or Diocesan bus transportation this year. So, if folks want to attend in-person, they will have to make private arrangements. If registering for updates, you will be provided information for virtual events such as the Rose Gala. If all else fails, I’m sure, as in past years, EWTN will be providing coverage all day and will also be televising the Masses from the Shrine, the Vigil the evening before around 6:00 pm and the Mass in the morning at 7:30 am. I will forward exact times when I have them. Here is the link:

Gentlemen:
I hope you have had a wonderful Advent and Christmas season. In order to get the New Year off to a great start, Father Brian Capuano of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Petersburg, Virginia, will be hosting a Men’s Retreat in early 2021. There are two weekends available at:
Friday January 22 – Saturday January 23, 2021 OR
· Friday February 5 – Saturday February 6.
Please go to Signup Genius to register for one of the weekends at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/805084BA8AB28A6F94-patris or you can email Andy at acondlin@rothjackson.com if you are unable to register through Signup Genius.
Patris Corde – “With a father’s heart: that is how Joseph loved Jesus, whom all four Gospels refer to as “’the son of Joseph’.” A newly proclaimed apostolic letter, titled “Patris Corde” begins with the appeal to live with fatherly love. In memory of the 150th anniversary of Pope Pius IX’s proclamation of St. Joseph as the “Patron of the Universal Church,” Pope Francis proclaimed a special “Year of Saint Joseph.” Father Capuano will be focusing his remarks on the Patris Corde. Please see the Apostolic Letter at http://www.vatican.va/content/francesco/en/apost_letters/documents/papa-francesco-lettera-ap_20201208_patris-corde.html
Fr. Brian Capuano has been pastor of St. Joseph since 2012. He concurrently serves as the Vicar for Vocations and a Judge in the Marriage Tribunal. He previously served as parochial vicar at St. Bridget Catholic Church, Richmond.
The agenda for each weekend will be as follows:
Friday (1/22 & 2/5)
6:30 pm Mass
7:00 pm Holy Hour with opening talk
Confession available until 8 pm
Saturday (1/23 & 2/6)
Breakfast on your own
8:00 AM Confession (during Parish regular Parrish Mass)
9:00 AM Mass
9:45 AM Holy Hour with Talk #2
10:45 AM Break
11:00 AM Talk #3
12:00 – 12:45 Lunch (will be provided with fellowship in the Hall)
1 PM Eucharistic Procession – Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary through Old Towne, Petersburg
2 PM Final Remarks
3 – 5 PM – regular confession time at St. Joseph
There will be time and space throughout the retreat for personal reflection as well as discussion and fellowship opportunities.
For anyone unable to make any of the times (you may register for any day if you prefer) we will be presenting Father Capuano’s talks on Zoom. Please let Andy know (acondlin@rothjackson.com) if you would like to register for any of the talks through Zoom.
Once registered, we will provide information on restaurants and overnight accommodations for those that would like to stay near the Church (and you are welcome to drive in both days). There is no cost for this event. However, we will be asking for a donation to the Church as a thank you for hosting us (link will be provided in the registration confirmation email) and at the event we will have a small basket for reimbursement for the lunch and prayer booklet if you would like to contribute $5 - $10 for those costs.
If you have any questions or need anything in particular please contact Andy atacondlin@rothjackson.com or 804/426-5297.
Please feel free to forward this email to anyone interested. Thank you.

Gents,
A Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving to one and all!
As we give the Lord thanks, let us remember the most vulnerable among us, those waiting to be born.
Next year’s March for Life is scheduled for January 29 in Washington, DC. Although I’m not sure if we will be running our K of C buses yet, please save the date.
Peace be with you.
Mike
Of course, I’ve now been reminded I’m not sure how limited things will be in DC in January. But, I’m sure whatever format the March takes it will be televised on EWTN

I wanted to invite you to a men’s retreat being put together by some guys from St. Bridget and being hosted by Father Brian Capuano at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Petersburg. There are two weekends available at either:
· Friday January 22 – Saturday January 23, 2020
OR
· Friday February 5 – Saturday February 6.
The program is still being put together but we expect to arrive in the mid-afternoon on Friday, with a mass that evening, and dinner on your own. We have a block of hotel rooms available at a set price at a bed and breakfast right near the church (limited capacity) and at a 2nd national chain hotel about 10 minutes away. The program on Saturday will start after breakfast (at the hotel), with a morning program, boxed lunch served, afternoon program, and finishing with a mass.
St. Joseph is about 40 minutes from St. Bridget and so if you feel uncomfortable staying overnight you can also drive to both days. Further, if you feel as if you can only attend one of the days you can do that too.
Costs will be about $75, which includes $50 for St. Joseph for hosting us, lunch on Saturday, waters, snacks and other minor costs for handouts and the like. An inability to pay will never be an issue for those who find it hard to make this payment as we already have a benefactor who will cover those costs for those that cannot.
Space is limited so we can follow the Diocesan Covid-19 protocols. Masks will be required during the programs. We will only have 15-20 spaces each weekend, so if you are interested at all, please email Andy at acondlin@rothjackson.com with your name, email, cell phone, address and which weekend (or which day you would like to attend). We will provide additional information in a few weeks and collect the fee at that time as well.
Fr. Brian Capuano has been pastor of St. Joseph since 2012. He concurrently serves as the Vicar for Vocations and a Judge in the Marriage Tribunal. He previously served as parochial vicar at St. Bridget Catholic Church, Richmond.
Please feel free to forward this email to anyone interested
Thank you for your patience as we continue to put together the program but we wanted to get the date out as soon as possible for folks to get it on their calendar. If you have any questions at all you can reach Andy at 804-977-3373.
