Leon,
At our last Men’s Ministry meeting, I was assigned to facilitate Pope Leo XIV Encyclical for the July meeting.
Yesterday evening I spent an hour reading the first 24 paragraphs of the Introduction and part of Chapter One.
The subject matter is interesting, but the text is extremely dense, and I have great difficulty retaining what I just read.
The Encyclical is 245 paragraphs in length. If I continue to read the in-depth material that is included in paragraph after paragraph, I am certain I could not prepare a meaningful thirty-minute presentation for the July meeting.
For this reason, I respectfully request that the Encyclical be cancelled.
I propose that we move ahead with Salvation - What Every Catholic Should Know, that was scheduled to start in August.
I will be prepared to facilitate the Introduction and the first Chapter, twenty-one pages, readable – comprehendible text, at the July meeting.
If you agree, please notify the Men’s Ministry members to secure a copy of Salvation for the July meeting.
Thanks
Steve S
