Produced through a grant from the John Templeton Foundation, the five-episode series serves as a beautiful and informative antidote to the notion that scientific thought is at odds with the Catholic faith.

Save the Date: Saturday March 11 Shrine Lenten Pilgrimage
As Mike K mentioned at our February meeting:
Save the date of Saturday, March 11 for our annual Pilgrimage to Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
Tentative plans:
Depart by carpool from St. Bridget at about 6:15-6:30 a.m. and try to return by about 6:00 p.m. The day consists of (each person picks and chooses what to devote their time to) a guided tour, private prayer, Confessions, Holy Mass, Stations of the Cross, and the opportunity to stop by the bookstore/gift shop). Sometimes, in between the tour and Mass, some of the guys make a quick side trip to the Dominican House of Studies to pray the Rosary in their chapel or to the Shrine of Saint Pope John Paul II. After Stations of the Cross in the Crypt Church at the Shrine, we usually adjourn to The Dubliner or Irish Times near Union Station for a late lunch before returning to Richmond.

Our March meeting will be Saturday, March 4, at 7:00 am, in the meeting room off the commons.
The meeting will start at 7:00 AM and finish by 7:55 AM so guys can attend 8:00 am Mass

Deacon Charlie has informed me that we actually will be able to have our more standard Respect Life Holy Hour this year during the regular Tuesday evening Adoration period beginning at 5:30 p.m. on January 31. Confessions will be available as usual.
This year’s Respect Life Holy Hour will be a vigil of sorts before Virginia’s Defend Life Day on February 1st.
Please make every effort to join us in prayer on Tuesday, January 31 @ 5:30 p.m. as our efforts to seek protection for all life, from conception to natural death, continue in earnest.

I haven’t seen anything from the parish yet, but here is the information I’ve seen circulating amongst the Men’s Ministry and the Knights of Columbus. I think we still have much work to do to change hearts and minds. Moreover, while the Dobbs decision was a good start, there is still legislation being considered at the national level that we need to oppose ( or support, depending on what is proposed of course). This is my adjusted email list from 2019, so please feel free to forward.
As in past years, Tony H is the person to contact to reserve seats on the bus stopping in front of the St. Bridget Middle School. Darius Y is the bus captain of the Pump Rd./Columbian Center/ St. Michael’s bus.
St John Neumann Bus proceeds to St Bridget Church, 6006 Three Chopt Road, Richmond, for an 8:15 am pick-up and departs by 8:30 am; contact Tony Hackenberg @ 804-339-0267 or tjhack@hotmail.com to reserve seats. The pick-up point is on the access road in front of the Middle School.
